This two-day course breaks down the interface, tools, and features of Adobe Photoshop CC into easy-to-understand topics and hands-on exercises. You’ll learn to enhance images for digital photography, print design, or the web. We’ll also cover color models and color management to ensure your final product looks and prints as expected. ! This class includes basic principles, elements, and vocabulary of using Photoshop, along with valuable tips and techniques. This class is taught using Adobe Photoshop CC, but most skills will transfer to other versions.

This course is part of the Graphic Design Certificate series.

Performance Objectives: Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Navigate the environment including tools, panels, and Adobe Bridge.
  • Work with basic and advanced selection tools.
  • Use basic photo correction tools.
  • Work with layers for greater flexibility and creative effects.
  • Straighten, crop, and resize photos and graphics.
  • Use the clone tool, healing brush, and patch tool.
  • Incorporate text with graphics.
  • Use blending modes and filters.
  • Understand color models and work with color libraries.
  • Enhance image colors, tone, and sharpness.
  • Work with advanced compositing.

Prerequisite: You should be familiar with Windows operating system before taking this course.  Familiarity with Adobe software applications is helpful.

Intended Audience: Anyone with limited to moderate experience using photo editing software and who designs communication for print and web.
