Built in 1963, about 20 employees work in the state Secretary of State's Southwest Regional Branch on the Olympia Capitol Campus which provides archival and records management services to local government agencies throughout Clark, Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, Skamania, Thurston and Wahkiakum counties. Local government records include those from county offices such as the auditor, clerk, treasurer and Board of Commissioners, and from municipalities, school districts, and other service districts.
