As a supervisor, you play an important role in workplace violence prevention by explaining policy, assessing situations, addressing behaviors, and reporting incidents. This course provides you with information you need to prevent and respond to violence in the workplace.

Performance Objectives: Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

• Define workplace violence and the four categories of workplace violence.
• Define workplace violence planning responsibilities.
• Evaluate workplace environmental factors and identify problematic situations.
• Identify factors that may increase the risk of workplace violence.
• Identify warning signs that an employee may be escalating or becoming violent.
• Detect, assess, and manage threats and threatening behavior.
• Respond to violence and domestic violence in the workplace.

Intended Audience: Leaders, managers, and supervisors.
